Well, it was like being beamed up into cyber space, whizzing up to the 28th floor in under 10 seconds. 1 Bligh Street, Sydney, is the epicenter of architectural seamlessness, sustainability and wonder. It was the perfect location for Mr. Dion Lee’s proposition: glass, light, refraction. His linear cutting tempered with a hint of corsetry, straps and folds are the building blocks for the elevated 2016 wardrobe. They can be worn in a deliciously slouchy way, in fact, almost wantonly, in their off-the-shoulder construction. But not wanton sexy/slutty, of course, but like in a wanton wanting way, grown up. Knowledgeable. A deep skein of Swarovski crystals weighted his pale lemon mini-dresses and tops and made us think of Miami – yellow and crystals always make us think of South Beach in the Sixties. He probs wasn’t thinking about that though. But he was thinking – style and substance is what Dion does.
