Everything is better with a bit of sparkle. That’s the essence of Italian dressing, especially in Milan. This is a town where modern silhouettes and vibrant embellishment are a power couple. No.21’s Alessandro Dell Acqua epitomises this approach. His cuts are always au courant, but his looks have a vivacity which this season came from crystal-studded bodysuits (which formed the foundation of many exits), or crystal and feather flounced mini skirts that updated the flapper look for the 21st century. Leggy looks ruled the day and the other erogenous zone was the hip bone with Y2K inspired, low-riding, crochet flares, cut to reveal plenty of midriff or slouchy tailored trousers with waistbands that fell away at the hip. Add a fluffy sandal and you’re good to go.
