Who can wear lingerie-inspired dresses that show off every curve? Anyone and everyone, says Nensi Dojaka. The LVMH prize winner expanded her reach beyond Bella Hadid and her perfect bodied ilk, with a collection shown on a wide variety of body types, skinny model types walked alongside regular size girls and curve superstar Paloma Elsesser. Pregnant Maggie Maurer literally glowed in a long sheer gown spangled with golden sequins. They looked better than good; they looked great.
Dojaka’s collection had more depth with more outerwear and shirting – her tailoring is as precise as her corsetry. Covered up or more sheer, every piece had the designers signature attention to detail. Inspired by Irving Penn flower still lives and nude lipstick swatches, she also introduced a special Hawthorne Rose shade that is her brand signature. If Valentino can own red and Balenciaga can claim pea green, why can’t Nensi have her new nude? Intimate, fleshy, voluptuous, it’s the perfect shade for a designer whose biggest inspiration is the female form.
