Veronica Etro harked back to the transcendental late sixties era – when Etro was founded – and blended it with early-nineties neo-hippie counterculture she had a taste of, whilst living in London at that time. It made for a heady Etro mix that brought together baggy jeans and cargo pants with psychedelic patchwork inserts, little crochet bra-tops, long fluid slip dresses in kaleidoscopic patchworks, and clubby, hypnotically patterned cycling shorts worn with matching crop tops and fluttering paisley maxi dresses.
The mood combined mysticism and spiritual awakening with a sense of freedom, mindfulness and joyful escapism. Etro believes these are the emotions we are reaching for post-pandemic. To help us find what we seek, she closed the show with a rousing live drum performance by Les Tambours du Bronx. Bam!
