A decade in and Eckhaus Latta’s shows are still afizz with excitement. Held at the soon-to-be-flattened old Essex Market in New York, Mike Eckhaus and Zoe Latta celebrated the 10th anniversary of their namesake label alongside the community their brand is built upon. The likes of Susan Cianciolo, Maryam Nassir Zadeh, Paloma Elsesser and Hari Nef swanned through the building’s crumbling interior donning shredded knits, rusty-coloured jeans perforated with rainbow crochet and glittery sheer tops, skirts and dresses that peeled from the body.
The pair have spent the last decade marrying art and craft with impressively sellable product. Their knitwear is fantastic, as is their denim, and the flesh-baring chainmail slip dress that came towards the end of the show spoke of that awkward sexiness that has charmed the brand all these years. Here’s to another 10.
