Wanda Nylon: Ready-to-wear SS16

Remember the Channel 5 TV show, The Tribe? Probably not. Well, for the uninitiated, it was a post-apocalpytic imagining of futuristic a world where adults have been wiped out my a mysterious deadly virus. Leaving only a bunch of feisty teens. Well, that what last night’s Wanda Nylon collection put us in mind of, the first from Johanna Senyk and Peter Hornstein. And not just because of the derelict venue (though we did have to wear a hard hat, Wanda Nylon branded, of course) – but because this was a parade of cool girls that were more than ready to take on the end of the world. The clothes themselves – well, they too had a futuristic, apocalpytic air – PVC separates, strappy, bondage style tops, Matrix-esque sunglasses. A kind of metallic foil material made for very modern outerwear. It was eclectic, in the best possible sense. And like The Tribe (seriously, trust us, its on YouTube), it was all very exhilarating – a much needed burst of energy in the midst of Paris Fashion Week.
