Having any Chanel in your wardrobe is special, but those vintage gems just hit differently. For many of us who fell in love with fashion through obsessing over the Chanel catwalks of yesteryear, being able to have a piece you once idolised in your own wardrobe feels like a dream in itself. Well, your Chanel-driven fantasies are about to become a reality as Farfetch has released a capsule collection of 47 rare Chanel pieces. The collection comes courtesy of Claudia Ricco, founder of specialist store Rewind Vintage Affairs, who has been collecting archive Chanel since 2003. The pieces originally belonged to socialite Catherine McNulty who had a particularly rare private collection of Chanel goodies.
Starting from the 1980s onwards, the collection is a homage to mastery of Karl Lagerfeld. Many of the pieces were worn by Chanel muses including Claudia Schiffer, Yasmni de la Bon and Ines de la Fressange. “When we first saw this particular collection it felt as though we had opened up an Aladdin’s cave of the most fabulous pieces, with the most glamourous stories behind them,” explains Ricco. Highlights include a pistachio green tweed bag, the Scuba jacket worn by Schiffer in 1989, and a beautiful set of earrings that dazzle in the Chanel double C logo. We don’t know what we want more…
The collection of Archive Chanel from Rewind Vintage is available exclusively on Farfetch now.
