Victoria Beckham: Ready-To-Wear SS26

Victoria Beckham’s SS26 show at Val-de-Grâce leaned into teenage memories – hers, specifically – and turned them into a wardrobe that felt both playful and refined. Looking back at old photos of herself, she tapped into that awkward but exciting stage of experimenting with clothes, and reworked it with her usual sharpness.

Slip dresses, a Beckham signature, came smocked into rosettes and misted with spray to look a little undone. Lace jacquard numbers were bonded at the bust, complete with creases that felt intentionally unpolished. Camisoles, slips and negligees were given the romantic treatment in pressed organza scattered with ditsy florals, lace trims and plissé, while rompers and shorts gained structure from hidden crinoline. Even the humble T-shirt got a cheeky slash at the neckline.

There was a grungier edge too: oversized lumberjack shirts, weathered parkas, and denim trousers folded into paper-bag shapes. A nubuck jacket, wired at the edges as if it had been scrunched up in a bag, hit the theme of carefree dressing perfectly. The palette – sand, coral, aquamarine, misty blue – softened the whole story.

Accessories followed suit: a new pleated Plie bag, the accordion-like Dolly, camera bags with buckles. Footwear swung from Cuban-heeled lace-ups to slender stiletto sandals. And tailoring came loose and oversized, lapel-free grandpa suits and wide trousers cinched in. A collection about girlhood, yes, but filtered through Beckham’s adult precision – playful, but still grown-up.
