It’s been a right sweaty week in Ten Towers. Will almost had a funny turn on Wednesday, removed his shoes and socks and sit, spread-eagled on his desk with two desk fans trained upon him. Still whinging, of course. Meanwhile, I learnt the fact that yes, legs can sweat, leading to such questions as: is a behind-the-knee sweat patch visible? Will I ever not be damp again? Dominic, on the other hand, said “fuck it” to the whole situation and arrived wearing a woollen roll-neck, long-sleeved shirt and full-length coat. Fash doesn’t care about the weather, gorge. Excessive heat can also excessive stench – of course not an issue for us boys and girls at Ten Towers – we smell as sweet as newborn children at all times. But, for those less fortunate we must remind you that heat-waves are the time for both real showers (note to large wet men on tube in morning) and also Italian showers, which, for those short on time is where you douse your clothing, pits and skin with perfume of your choice to cover up any unwanted scents. So which perfume to choose? If you are a man, as myself, I would recommend something strong. Heady. Musky. Something butch. One that can hold up to waves of heat-addled testosterone. Enter, then, “Dylan Blue”, Versace’s new fragrance. Perfect for dipping yourself into of a summers day. “Dylan Blue is the essence of the Versace man today,” said Donatella herself. “It’s a fragrance full of character and individuality, an expression of a man’s strength and also his charisma. I love how it takes traditional notes and scents and makes them totally modern, totally fresh for today, and tomorrow.” Bruce Weber, who photographed the campaign added, “For me, Versace has always represented this kind of driving passion. That’s why I’ve always loved working with them—they give photographers and filmmakers like me the freedom to imagine a big life”.
