Versace: Couture Spring/Summer 2014
Elongated draped jersey hoodies, figure hugging draped jersey encrusted cocktail dresses and gowns. A merge of Mrs. Jones meets Grace Jones. Beading appeared in the form of graphic almost tribal tattoo, inspired motifs and the colours were vivid and unapologetic. Bright yellows, purples and oranges gave a strong, bold and confident message. Backstage Donatella described the collection as being a discussion of the fragility in the Versace woman, and the fragility in her. Well honestly I still felt her strength, fearlessness and her power even in this moment of calm fragility.
