Venus Williams On Dior Capture For Great Skin On And Off The Tennis Court

“I think I’m feeling most powerful when I’m able to make my own choices,” says Venus Williams, who has spent her life in motion – on tennis courts (she has seven Grand Slam titles, five Wimbledon championships and four Olympic gold medals), in boardrooms and now, in front of a camera as the face of Dior Beauty’s reimagined Capture skincare line. The tennis legend, entrepreneur and lifelong advocate for women’s empowerment has joined Dior Beauty in its mission to not only celebrate the strength of women around the world, but beauty and individuality through skin that reflects both vitality and self-care.

For Williams, the collaboration with Dior Beauty is deeply personal. “As a fashion student, (I went to design school),” she recalls, “part of that experience includes studying fashion history. Dior was such a massive figure in that space – completely transforming fashion, style and the way women dressed. So for me, the history of Dior is already incredible and inspiring. But then, when we start talking about skin – which is honestly my obsession – that’s when things get even more exciting.” Her fascination with skincare isn’t incidental – it’s something she’s honed over years spent in the public eye, under stadium lights and in demanding environments that require performance on every level. “Skin is the first thing you focus on; it’s the foundation of everything,” she continues. “I’ve spent a lot of time in the sun (and still do!), so I’m constantly looking for ways to maintain and even reverse some of those effects. That’s why having products like Dior Capture Le Sérum – the serum for firmer, younger-looking skin – and the Dior Capture Day Cream (or Le Crème) – with its plumping effect – is so meaningful. They’re not just beauty products; they’re part of my routine, part of how I take care of myself.”

The 2025 relaunch of Dior’s Capture line arrives after nearly four decades of scientific innovation with two fresh skincare products – Le Sérum and Le Crème – and a renewed focus on hydration, anti-aging and plumping effects – all pillars of Williams’ personal skincare philosophy. A lover of layering her products, she’s especially meticulous about moisture. “Hydration, hydration, hydration,” she says emphatically. “The more moisture, the more glow.”

With an international travel schedule and years spent serving strokes under the sun, maintaining healthy skin isn’t vanity – it’s discipline. “One of the first things I do before a flight is put on Capture La Crème. It keeps my skin hydrated for 24 hours and gives it that plump, radiant look. So when I land, I look amazing – and I feel good.”

Williams’ skincare routine is a study in consistency: serum, cream, rose water, repeat. “I use the Capture line every day as part of my routine. I start with the serum – or Dior Capture Le Sérum – [because] it really helps to firm the skin. Then there’s the Dior Capture Totale Hyalushot, which targets wrinkles. And, you know, wrinkles can be a part of aging – which is both unfortunate and fortunate. Because yes, with age comes wisdom and more power to live your best life… but also, sometimes, a few lines I’d rather not showcase,” she says. “And I keep rose water everywhere – my car, my bag, on the plane – so I can just spray, spray, spray. I spray my face four or five times before I even get to the cream,” she says. “Then Capture La Crème locks everything in, providing long-lasting moisture and that plumping effect I love. So it’s non-negotiable for me.” Other than that, Williams keeps things simple, but intentional. “There are so many ways to approach skincare – it’s not one-size-fits-all. For me, moisture is number one; hydration is everything. I also focus on resurfacing the skin and encouraging cell turnover – that’s a big part of my routine. So even something as simple as washing your face with a towel, or using products that help with exfoliation and renewal, makes a difference. I’m also drawn to ingredients with anti-aging benefits, like Vitamin C,” Williams says.

She was drawn to the intention behind Dior’s Capture campaign, which features a roster of global, multifaceted women – from actress Glenn Close to activist-artist Xin Liu – shot by lauded photographer Brigitte Lacombe. “I love being a part of greatness,” she says, going on to share that her inclusion in the project is a dream come true not just because of these venerable women but because the products themselves are feats of formulaic mastery. “And high performance too – that’s literally my language,” she says.

As the face of Dior Capture, Venus Williams does more represent a skincare line. With a slap of serum and a dollop of cream, she embodies the essence of Dior Beauty’s message: that true beauty begins within and real strength comes from owning your story – wrinkles, radiance and all.
