When he presented his SS20 collection at Moschino, Jeremy Scott gave us a surreal painterly bonanza in an homage to the works of Pablo Picasso which came to life via all the supermodels of the moment dressed like walking canvases. Creative, colourful and a bit coo-coo crazy – it’s all we love and wish from Scott. And if we had to imagine the kind of campaign that will celebrate the collection, we surely wouldn’t predict a makeshift 1980s all-female rock band starring Kaia Gerber, Adut Akech, Gigi Hadid, Bella Hadid and Imaan Hammam. But this is the wild world of Moschino where everything is up for grabs.
Photographed by Steven Meisel in the setting of a Top of The Pops-like show presented by none other than Top Model host herself – Miss Tyra Banks, the girl band called Moschinorama dons their own interpretation of Karla DeVito’s 1981 hit Is This A Cool Girl or What?. Scott’s exaggerated proportions look perfectly in place on the neon-lit stage, especially when completed with extreme 1980s beauty courtesy of Guido Palau and Pat McGrath. Forget about the Pussycat Dolls comeback tour – we’d go queuing for a VIP ticket of Moschinorama at Wembley. See you in the front row!
