TOPMAN: ASTRID ANDERSEN COLLECTION LAUNCHED
No longer are Astrid Andersen’s wares the exclusive preserve of Machine-A/VFiles devotees. Oh no. The Danish designer has created a capsule collection for Topman which launches today. “I make sport-inspired casual wear with a luxurious feel,” says Andersen. “I want [this collection] to be very clean and sleek but at the same time push some materials and techniques that will be unconventional for Topman in their menswear selection.” In this collection, modelled by American rapper A$AP Ferg, Andersen has infused her trademark take on classic hip-hop clothing with ideas she got from a website about Punjabi basketball teams. “The colour code and metal reflect the traditional Indian use of colours but in a tight palette.” We think this calls for an extended lunchbreak to go and investigate the collection for ourselves.
The Astrid Andersen for Topman collaboration will be on sale in Topman Oxford Circus, London Selfridges, Topman New York, Topman LA and online at topman.com from 12th June.
