It’s not everyday a fashion titan of Tommy Hilfiger’s stature turns the big 7 0. For the past four decades, Mr Hilfiger has built, from the ground up, an untouchable American fashion empire like no other.

Beginning his fashion journey in the early 1970s with his first venture, the People’s Place, Hilfiger went on to become a household name in the States with his eponymous label, launched in 1985. His red, white and blue, street-centric fashions became a go-to amongst hip-pop and R&B stars of the nineties, famously dressing everyone from P Diddy and Destiny’s Child, to Snoop Dogg and TLC.
