Tom Ford: Ready-To-Wear AW24

Peter Hawkings’ high-octane designs demand the glow of a disco ball. In his second season since taking over Ford’s eponymous label, the designer doubled down on his sexually-charged tailoring and his epic going-out dressing that’s prepped and primed to dress Hollywood’s elite (everyone from Sharon Stone to Uma Thurman were on the front row).

To the sounds of Sam Smith’s cover of “I Feel Love” out came shirts unbuttoned below the naval, croc-effect black and navy trench coats and slick suits in shiny creams, inky velvets and royal purples. Hawkings cleverly met nostalgia for a bygone era of ultra-glam dressing with clothes built to dress today. Barely-there flapper dresses and see-through catsuits walked alongside military-style coats and faux fur jackets worn over crystal-laden, netted frocks. Perfect for a night spent dancing under strobe lights.
