It’s that time of year where once again, while we sit front row, watching models parade up and down the runways of New York, London, Milan and Paris in new season fashions, celebrities are emerging from the woodwork to parade up and down the red carpets of award ceremonies in fancy gowns for our post show viewing pleasure and maybe to collect an award or two. First up – the BAFTAs in London last night where an array of beautiful people worked floor grazing lengths like the super star pros that they are. Here are our top ten: Alicia Vikander, despite not having been in last year’s Mad Max reboot gave us Mad Max in leather panelled Louis Vuitton, while Dree Hemingway continues the head the call of Chris de Burgh and his Lady in Red in some lacy and racy, despite the raised neckline, in Erdem. Angela Bassett continues to channel her fierce witch within, looking as though she put a hex on you if you dare slight her in fuchsia Galia Lahav and Cate Blanchett gives us the Planet of the Apes glamour in McQueen. Not that she looks like an ape, in any way shape or form, it’s just that her skirt is furry and rather ape, and who knew that apes could be so glamorous. It’s fair to say that she has done more for the ape community with her appearance than Sigourney Weaver ever did with Gorillas in the Mist. Rooney Mara is channelling what we would describe as the most deliciously saucy bowl of oatmeal we’ve ever seen in Givenchy Haute Couture by Riccardo Tisci and coming from us that really is a compliment of the highest order, while Saoirse Ronan is a tall drink of cold water in a black floral column by Burberry. Kate Winslet, winner of the Best Supporting Actress for her portrayal of Steve Jobs’ ‘work wife’ in Steve Jobs is all va va voom curves and oozing old school Hollywood glamour from every pore in a sexy Antonio Berardi number with an edgy neckline. We do love an edgy neckline here at Ten. Nothing like a little drama in the decolletage department. Dakota Johnson picks up the Chris de Burgh torch from Dree hinting at the yet to be released remix of the famous song, Ladiez in Red. Lily Donaldson does her best impression of Stevie Nicks in billowing Saint Laurent, and Julianne Moore rounds off our round up looking as chic and pulled together as ever with a small dash of Alexis coolness thrown in, in monochrome Giorgio Armani. Congratulations ladies on looking so fine, we might have to raise a bottle of champagne in celebration.
