We like to move to the music here at Ten, and we were booty shaking all the way through the Autumn Winter ’18 shows. Music is such an integral part of a show. It decides the rhythm of a collection and the flow of the clothes. Philip Glass’ compositions delicately swirled through collections, his remix of Blondie’s Heart of Glass was the pulse behind Prada and fired up Balmain. Donatella Versace was rocking out to The Moonlandingz with all that black leather and plaid mini skirts. Jonathan Anderson taught us our life lessons in Loewe through spoken word and Fendi had us feeling logically logo-ified. Clare Waight Keller’s Givenchy collection added all that dark drama with another Philip Glass piece. We got to know Virgil better through his choice of finale music, The Smashing Pumpkins deep Disarm. Lou Reed’s Vanishing Act was softly infused into Haider Ackermann’s clever creations. The Animals’ moody but bluesy The House of the Rising Sun rocked Roland Mouret’s dangerous women filled with strength. We were put into a feel good toe tapping trance at Stella McCartney’s show, taking control and reworking Lizzo’s rap to say ‘Stella’ in it. Fast paced and on a mission. Christopher Bailey celebrated his 17 years at Burberry with ’80s Brit pop and rock that marked his territory and was the soundtrack to his goodbye. We partied, we cried, we danced. A successful season. This is our official AW18 playlist. Live it, love it, breathe it.
