Anybody who knows me (and maybe even some who don’t) will know that I am obsessed with RuPaul’s Drag Race. It’s a great show filled with bitchiness, fab fashions and camp humour. This season is no exception. I think I may have rewatched every episode at least 10 times. My favourite from this season is Bob the Drag Queen. A New York queen who has adopted the phrase “walk into the room purse first”. Why on earth would you walk into the room purse first you might ask. Well you want to whet the appetite in everyone in the room. A little aperitif before the main meal of the rest of your outfit. To do so you would need the perfect purse. One which alone could turn all of the heads in the room towards it. It is Saint Laurent’s Emmanuelle bag. Just the right size to be held in your outstretched hand and command attention in a delightful snakeskin print, or needlepointed flower design, or even a slightly wrinkled black leather. And what to wear to compliment this small pouch of joy? Who cares? The room has already been won over, your work is done. So thanks Saint Laurent, we salute you.
