I love a comeback. It’s a bit like rooting for the underdog, but better. You forget about someone for a while, whilst quietly reminiscing their good times, and then before you know it they’re back and you get to enjoy them all over again. The latest (and perhaps greatest) comeback is of Canadian Queen (unfortunately unofficially) Celine Dion. Whilst you were shopping in Tesco, or doing whatever other mundane things you do with your life, Celine has been quietly slaying the game in the background. It started in Paris. It was Couture. The Dior show was about to begin. Our man on the ground, Jack Moss, texted me saying “omfg Celine Dion is here”. Prompting Will to rename her ‘Celine Dior’. Later the same week, she was spotted leaving her hotel wearing a Vetements Titanic hoodie – fashion and movie fans alike screaming at how fucking iconic she is. The comeback culminated with Celine’s appearance on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon. A day in which Celine had no less than 7 outfit changes. After being covered on the shows Wheel of Musical Impressions game a few times, it was only fitting that she would star herself to show the kids how it is done. And she did not disappoint. Celine, my heart will always go on, but it’s great to have you back.
