Time and time again designers keep trying to come up with an alternative to the sneaker. Well, we say: get over it. The sneaker just keeps getting better. Exhibit A, here, with the new Versace ‘Chain Reaction’ trainer from the women’s and men’s Autumn/ Winter 18 shows. This is probably our most extra Ten Loves moment so far but these trainers deserve every bit of drama. That hiking shoe laced bright blue through fire engine red is the kind of screaming-for-attention sneaker we need. The technical details include “puff croc” neoprene lining and TPU lace cage for lateral stability, whatever that means. We know it’s a good thing. To add to the brilliance, the word ‘love’ is written in braille on the toe because, Tenners, love is blind. Our love for the Chain Reaction sneakers isn’t. And, of course, there is leopard print involved on other designs. We would never mislead like that. The full collection of trainers is available now.
