Let’s cut to the chase – it’s f*cking freezing outside. Just like the surprise birthday party you never wanted, winter weather always seems to sneak up on you despite knowing that, just like last year, it’s bound come again. And so we turn our heaters on, whip out the hot water bottles and get a whole new set of warm clothes for the season. Part of that to-do list is a pair of comfy shoes that will make you feel like you’re walking on clouds. We’re talking Uggs here, but not just your regular kind.
Shown as part of the Sacai AW18 show in Paris, the Classic silhouette got a fabulous new makeover that made us fall in love with the boots, yet again. Chitose Abe took an item the world knew as an American classic and injected her hybrid-loving functional sensibility, creating a shoe that’s even warmer than the original. The striped socks, attached to the upper of the two styles of Uggs, are exactly what we need right now. They’re unisex and coming in three different colourways, which means our winter shoe closet refresh is resolved. And don’t at us if you see us wearing these at every single time of the day or night – we’re permanently attaching these to our feet for the next three months.
Between Y/ Project, Jeremy Scott and now Sacai, the recent Ugg collab game is going stronger than ever. Wonder who’s next? Stay tuned (and warm).
