Loewe’s brand spanking new version of the Flamenco Purse has arrived and she’s superb! Originally launched back in the ’80s, the bag is inspired by the swinging silhouette of the Spanish flamenco skirt and the effect created when the bag’s coiled knots are pulled to cinch the bag closed. The updated version makes for the perfect piece of arm candy, whether it accompanies you for a leisurely stroll through Barcelona’s streets or comes along for a few pints tucked away in a Hackney beer garden. With the Flamenco Purse, expect to be the apple of every passers-by eye.
First appearing on the spring/summer 2024 catwalk, Loewe It-girls Taylor Russell, Yang Mi and Lim Ji-Yeon can be seen sporting the bag in the collection’s campaign, lensed by David Sims. The Flamenco Purse is totally versatile. You can either use it as a clutch for a night out on the tiles, a shoulder bag for your essential hungover coffee pit-stop the next day or a crossbody for browsing the delights of Soho’s sunbathed streets.
For the minimalists who only ever carry the staunch essentials (lippy, ciggies and a lighter) it’d be remiss not to note that the Flamenco’s got a baby sister – an adorable rendition thats about half the size of the original – and she too is just divine! Both variations exude that perfect fusion of effortless sensuality and sophistication, with smoothly sloped sides coming in black, dark burgundy, desert-beige and emerald green. All bags are completed with a gold chain strap, crafted in a donut style shape and finished with a jewel-like pebble to add that perfect touch of edge to the sublime accessory. Now I know you’ve already made a space for it in your closet… so go on, get your very own here.
