Ten Loves: Alexander McQueen Curve Bag

A decent handbag isn’t hard to come by these days. After all, the world of accessories has never felt more dynamic. From teenie-weenie little things – what can you actually fit in those micro-concoctions? – to those big ol’ luxury sacks that shadow your frame, you’re basically spoilt for choice. But there lies the problem. With so much out there, it’s hard to decipher the sort of bag you’re going to cherish for years to come, compared to those hot minute love affairs that’ll be chucked on eBay within a year.

What should you be looking out for, then? Well first: durability, coupled with an interesting shape and the perfect proportions to accompany you through the everyday. The Alexander McQueen Curve Bag covers all those boxes, and then some. Serving as the focal point for Sarah Burton’s spring/summer 21 collection for the house, this bucket-shaped creation can be worn both cross-body and over-the-shoulder. With a silhouette wrapped in hand-finished, leather harnesses, the Curve comes in a range of hues – including pink, green and sky blue.

Officially hitting stores today – watch out for a dedicated window display at McQueen’s New Bond Street flagship – the house called upon its newest ambassadors, including future Brigerton star Simone Ashley and the Bafta-nominated actor Kosar Ali (who wore McQueen at the award show) to flaunt the Curve in all its splendid glory.
