All Aboard the Hot Holiday from Pleasing

Sweating it out in the UK this summer? Harry Styles’ brand Pleasing is back with another micro-collection to lift your sun-stroked spirits. You might not be lounging by a pool under the Mediterranean sun, but the brand’s Hot Holiday collection promises to get you in the vacation mood. Featuring four new shades of its much-hyped nail polish (playfully named Beach Ball, Nonna’s Sorbet, Harry’s Chair and Wet Bottoms), the collection also includes the naturally scented Pleasing Spritz facial mist and the Everybody Oil to hydrate and uplift, alongside a limited run of Pleasing apparel. Think of this collection as a summer holiday for the senses – just minus the smell of burnt barbecues and factor 50. HC

Escape with Maxime

For SS23 – Maxime’s Edition 4 is entitled The Escape – focus is on the countryside home and exploration of both self and surroundings. Set at a 16th century farmhouse in Suffolk, this latest edition is bolstered by its wild and hard-worn environment. The looks are comprised of soft tailoring and utility wear, in a range of textured materials from raschel knit to broderie anglaise, whilst scarves draw inspiration from tapestry and blankets often found in country houses. It’s giving cottage core, but not as you know it (phew!). Maxime has graciously reclaimed the cutesy aesthetic and brought us something ultra-chic and refined – and not to mention responsible with 90% of Edition 4 created using existing fabrics. HC

GUESS Jeans ramps up the glam for AW22

It’s never too early to think about the season ahead and taking to the streets of Granada in southern Spain is the latest Guess Jeans campaign for AW22. Shot by Tatiana Gerusova, the fashion photographer is known for her frequent collaborations with Guess and her sensual, pin-up style portraits. Both womenswear and menswear from the collection is complimented by tonal accessories, warm prints, and glitzy details. For all of us who hide behind a palette of black and grey during the colder months, Guess has other plans in store. HC

Progression for SS23 at John Lawrence Sullivan

At its core, John Lawrence Sullivan is a brand specialising in evolving men’s tailoring. As with every collection though, SS23 provides a fresh perspective on traditional garment making. This time around, the brand’s founder Arashi Yanagawa brings us deconstructed and distorted silhouettes inspired by fetish-wear and the brand’s own archives. A key reference for the designer is Annegret Soltau, the German visual artist recognised for her torn-apart and sewn-together photomontages. Entitled Progression, highlights from the collection include spider-webbed knitwear, a denim bustier, and classic suit pants with back pockets stitched at the front. Through a process of deconstruction, it appears the identity of JLS is truly coming together. HC

Demi Singleton, Sydney Sweeney and more star in Miu Miu’s AW22 campaign

For AW22, Miuccia Prada is celebrating her muses through a visual character study. Including Emma Corrin, Euphoria’s Sydney Sweeney, and Demi Singleton alongside other members of the Miu Miu community, the campaign connects these individuals through their diverse stories and rebellious spirit, ultimately locating them within the transgressive ideology of the brand. Like its star-studded cast, each look featured in the campaign is very much of the moment: including iterations of our favourite viral mini-skirt, as well as sporty silhouettes in the form of low-riding tennis skirts and jerseys. Trust us, this is one clique you want to be a part of. HC

Valentino continues to support young fashion talent

Each season, Valentino will use its Instagram platform to showcase the collection of a different emerging brand. Kicking off last September, the second instalment will see Act N°1 founders Galib Gassanoff and Luca Lin take over the channel. “The work of Galib Gassanoff and Luca Lin is light and profound as the gaze of every young designer should be and perhaps how all ours should be,” says Pierpaolo Piccioli. PT

House of Juicy heads to Selfridges

Calling all Juicy Couture loyalists, Selfridges is now playing host to the brand’s biggest retail space in the UK. This latest venture in velour coincides with the new #JuicySelfMade series, with six influential women from different creative industries coming together to celebrate their fellow female pioneers in JC’s bold new styles. In recent seasons we have rejoiced at the return of iconic ’00 fits, as our collective embrace of the bedazzled Juicy tracksuit shows no sign of slowing. With the launch of five new colourways ideal for summer, now is the time to channel your inner Y2K princess and head on down to the House of Juicy.  HC

Dior’s AW22 campaign is a true celebration of womanhood

Dior’s latest ready-to-wear campaign, featuring designs from Maria Grazia Chiuri, draws its inspiration from women globally. Simulating a gallery of female portraiture from the Italian artist Mariella Bettineschi, the house reinterprets the traditional societal gaze that has conditioned women throughout history. The result is a powerful and evocative image of the contemporary Dior woman. Such commitment to modernity is evident through a willingness to reflect on the past and expand its legacy through collaboration. For this campaign, Dior continues to work with Italian start-up D-Air lab on technical inserts for its clothing and accessories, including the eternal Dior Bobby and Lady Dior bags. HC
