Turning 160 is no regular birthday, alright. Tag Heuer has been producing the finest luxury timepieces the world of watches has to offer for over a century and a half! The Swiss watchmaker is celebrating its big birthday bash with a brand new collector’s piece that unites two of the brand’s greatest creations. The Tag Heuer Carrera 160 Years Montreal Limited Edition sees the brand’s classic 1972 Montreal timepiece blended with the popular contemporary model, Tag Heuer Carrera. Interweaving the former’s vintage design with the latter’s modern mechanisms, this timepiece comes with a blue alligator leather strap, a 39mm polished steel case and a vivid watch face accented with reds, blues and yellows. Made up of a whopping 168 components, this is a must-have for any serious watch fanatic out there.
And that’s not all. The brand has also teamed up with Fragment Design’s Hiroshi Fujiwara on a brand new, minimalist model Heuer 02 Chronograph. Stripped-back in its design, the Chronograph’s tachymeter scale is able to shine as the piece’s signature detailing. “Redesigning this Tag Heuer Chronograph timepiece gave me the opportunity to use an existing legacy to create a new one,” says Fujiwara. “I gave the design a modern and exceptional flair with the red case back, which reflects one of the brand’s logo colours and also gives it a completely new and evolved character”.
Both the ‘Tag Heuer Carrera 160 Years Montreal Limited Edition’ and ‘Heuer 02 Chronograph’ are available to purchase now.
