You know that saying about a person having more talent in their little finger than you do in your entire body? Always thought it was a little bit of an exaggeration until I interviewed the brilliant Stephen Galloway last year. Choreographer, dancer, costume designer, movement director, “hips and lips” for Mick Jagger, recording artist, singer – I could go on. He’s also a fashion stalwart, having worked with, to quote Sister Sledge, “the best designers heaven knows… Halston, Gucci, Fiorucci.” Okay, maybe not your Halstons and Fioruccis, but your Miu Mius, your Saint Laurents, your Celines – and just about every big name supermodel (“Gisele – dream! Kate – dream! Raquel – dream!”) and photography under the fashion sun. His talent is endless. And now, he’s teamed up with Pretty BIG movement, a full-figured dance company on a music video for the Robin S. track Show Me Love. One of our favs. “Sometimes those projects come along that you would jump off a roof to do! Ladies and gentlemen this was one of them! It was an honour to work with each and every one of you,” Mr Galloway said via Instagram this week. With the help of a few (thirteen) vodkas, we shall be attempting some of the moves at our local discotheques this evening.
The film premieres as part of the launch of the new interactive fashion publication, Mission Magazine.
