Star Wars x Selfridges: Fashion Finds the Force Auction

Last night, fashion’s great and the good came together like a mass assembling of Jedi warriors (or Stormtroopers – I’m not an expert), to celebrate Selfridges’ Star Wars extravaganza, Fashion Finds The Force. And what a journey to the other side of it was, transported via London’s fine fashion talents, with ten designers creating one-off outfits inspired by the Star Wars universe – pulling in everyone from JW Anderson, Peter Pilotto, Agi & Sam, Bobby Abley, Christopher Raeburn, Claire Barrow to Nasir Mazhar, Phoebe English, Preen by Thornton Bregazzi and Thomas Tait. An impressive list I think you’ll agree? The whole thing was all in aid of Great Ormond Street Hospital – with each outfit auctioned off to raise money to the charity. Unfortunately, by the time the auction came around we had drunk far too much to make any kind of reasonable financial decisions. Our favs? Well, there was a rather nice belly-baring sweatshirt from JDubz, Peter Pilotto’s X-Wing-inspired jumpsuit and a nice little Nasir harness/bag thing. I mean it was all good really. Those who didn’t make the guest list needn’t worry – each designer has also designed a sweatshirt and t-shirt that’s available in store now. Go get ’em!
