A little something to brighten up your Sunday afternoon (literally) – number 5 of Sophia’s favs from the project she set the image-makers attending Mastered: Photography with Nick Knight (find out more here). Introducing Amanda Fordyce, a photographer who shares her time between Barcelona and London – this project, entitled “Alimony”, was inspired (and eventually shot at) Ricardo Bofill-designed building, La Muralla Roja in Spain. Here’s what Sophia thought…
Love the mood boards and the progression from concept to reality. The composition, the focus on colour and saturation works really well – very well conceived and executed. The use of natural light – the pinks with turquoise skies – is just so seductive. Keeping the palette so tight really makes an amazing set of images. It’s very reminiscent of Guy Bourdin but definitely Viviane Sassen is someone you should look at as inspiration.
