A very sad day here at Ten Towers, with the news of Sophia Kokosalaki’s passing. An incredible talent, and wonderful woman, she will be deeply missed by all who knew her, and the wider fashion industry as a whole. A Central Saint Martins graduate, Greek Kokosalaki launched her brand in 1999 and established a signature style of combining classic draping with modern silhouettes. Over the past 20 years, Kokosalaki has worked on some incredible projects, including stints at Vionnet when it relaunched in 2006, designing womenswear for Diesel Black Gold and even creating the outfits for the opening and closing ceremonies at the 2004 Summer Olympic Games held in her hometown of Athens. In an interview for 10 Magazine, she described her source of inspiration as “the realisation that there are so many ideas and such little time.” Rest in peace dear Sophia and sending love to your family and friends.
