“Les oiseaux de nuit” was the theme of the Sonia Rykiel Spring show. For you uncultured sorts, that means night owl. And, according to the brief Google we did after the show, it’s also a kind of French cabaret. You know – feathers, showgirls, can-can – that kind of thing. And there were certainly cabaret leanings here – long, body-skimming pleated dresses, little moon-motif belts and of plenty of sequins. Puffs of brightly coloured fur. Even the catwalk itself was aglow with glitter. The perfect party wear for a Parisian soiree.
