Sonia Rykiel: Ready-to-wear AW17

Seem to be having a bit of a marabou moment this season. Feathers bloody everywhere. Not to suggest that we’re adverse – quite the opposite – we’re all for a garment that allows us to live out Barbara Cartland-based-boudoir fantasies, involving, a boa, pink chiffon and a Pekingnese Mai-Mai. Julie de Libran too served up the goods at Sonia Rykiel yesterday, with possibly the best full-look marabou moment so far (bar those Prada hoods, but for the purposes of this, they were accessories) with exit 44, a silky top, trou and jacket situation covered in so many off-white features it practically floated. Elsewhere, before Julie dialled up the glamour, there was something homey about the AW17 offering – lots of these easy, pyjama-ish cuts, craft-y knitwear, some cable-knit, others with this woven, rug-like quality, and all finished with a dash of patchwork and print. Easy, breezy, beautiful.
