Sinéad O’Dwyer called her AW24 collection Supervisor, and aptly so. Models of all colours, shapes and sizes sported her quintessential shibari-inspired bodysuits intertwined with chain-linked Swarovski crystal beads with a corporate twist, and they did it wearing workplace appropriate loafers, provided by Ecco. A few donned silver frame specs too, adding to that 9-5 feel of the presentation.
There were long, denim skirts with raw waistbands and long side zips – as well as asymmetric mini ones – or low waist culottes paired with busty crossover corsets. Along with the shirts, denim overcoats featured contoured seams, extenuating the figure of the wearer, regardless of her size, and dangling from waistbands were silver metal renditions of O’Dwyer’s windowpane-inspired belt motif, adding dash of grunge glam to the offering.
Shirting was a key focus of the collection. Oversized poplin button downs, collared shirts cut with shibari-like crisscross knits and structured boleros were worn with mohair balaclavas and school-like jumpers. Elsewhere, wide-legged tailored trousers featuring voluminous side pleats were paired with satin-backed waistcoats. All in an inviting palette of blush pink, bold crimson, crisp white, jet black and camel (which also came with a golden satin sheen), the office is set to be looking lush this year.
