Selfridges Team Up With Gareth Pugh and Carson McColl on a Film Spotlighting LGBTQIA+ Activists

Gareth Pugh and Carson McColl are more than just husband and husband. Together they’re the peddle to the metal when it comes to charging their creative studio forward to create groundbreaking art, fashion and film. Last summer, the pair released Soul of a Moment, a film that celebrated the ‘intersection of  LGBTQIA+ arts and activism’ here in the UK. The current health crisis is making the lives of marginalised communities across the country increasingly difficult than beforehand. Many fantastic charities all over Britain are doing life-changing work during such uncertain times, but for many, the desperate need for financial assistance is halting their progress.

Pugh and McColl have teamed up with Selfridges as part of their Creativity is Not Cancelled series to highlight two inspiring LGBTQIA+ charities – The 343 in Belfast and The Outside Project in London – to celebrate the Mutual Aid work both organisations have been completing during the Covid-19 crisis. Through the short film, both Gareth and Carson (who have donated their fee for producing the film equally to both orginisations) hope to raise significant funds to support the two charities. The film also spotlights a wide range of different Mutal Aid groups who are also in need of financial assistance. We need these organisations now more than ever.
