If your name is Bertrand Guyon, then today is a good day for you. Because you have been appointed design director of all haute couture and prêt-à-couture collections at the House of Schiaparelli. It’s quite a gig. “Elsa Schiaparelli is an enchanting couture house,” Guyon commented. “I have always been fascinated by its exceptional legacy. I feel honoured to be part of Schiaparelli today and develop it further, respecting its heritage and tradition while adding a contemporary and modern take, something Elsa Schiaparelli has always demonstrated.” But who is Guyon? Well, he’s a former couture designer at Valentino who has haute couture houses Givenchy and Christian Lacroix listed on his impressive CV. Impressionnant, non? The new design director will be presenting his debut collection for the house at the Paris couture shows in July. We’re looking forward to seeing Schiap à la Guyon already.
