“I had absolutely no idea when I was at school or university where I would be or what I would be doing. Though I used to do fashion drawings when I was a child, with swatches stuck next to them stolen from my mother’s ‘oddments’ draw. I was bought up in Bath and used to go and goggle at all the clothes in the Bath Museum of Costume whenever I could, too. And my wealthy aunt who was a chic clothesaholic gave me a subscription to Vogue for my 13th birthday.”
