When the local off-license struggles to hit the spot any longer, you can now turn to Anthony Vaccarello’s concept store, Saint Laurent Rive Droite. It might not be found on the corner of your road, but it can now be spotted in Paris and LA. This chic take on a local is playing host to a variety of branded items, ranging from toy cars to condoms, all branded with Saint Laurent – it’s basically an occasion for all the YSL-loving family. The amusing concept stores, which will be continually restocked with new releases, are decorated with mirrors and marble, a haven for any social media mogul. The exclusive pieces have been set about in such a way that at times it begins to feel like the university library we all wished for, with even a Saint Laurent branded hip flask on hand.
The module spaces allow for fluid movement around the stores, in order to mould the low-ceiling emporiums into the perfect exhibition and event venues. With books, vinyl, bric-a-brac and furniture as well as fashion – the possibilities oozing out of the retail destinations are magnifying the changing DNA of Saint Laurent. Collaborations will also be one of the key components of the stores. You can soon expect to see a partnership with sportswear brand Everlast, featuring a full boxing outfit perfect for the Love Island heartthrob Tommy Fury. By altering the retail experience into one which invites customers to take a seat, have a read and soak in their surroundings, maybe the industry will begin to take a breath and slow down when it comes to their shopping habits. If not, there is always a food truck out front, thanks to Sant Ambroeus, if customers need some grub to fuel their spree. YSL is not style – it’s a lifestyle.
Saint Laurent Rive Droite is located in 213, Rue Saint Honoré, 75001 Paris, and extended at 469 Rodeo Drive, Los Angeles.
