S.S.Daley: Ready-To-Wear AW25

S.S. Daley’s AW25 collection was a rich fusion of Scottish artistry and British workwear, all wrapped up in the rebellious spirit of Marianne Faithfull. Inspired by the bold colours and atmospheric brushstrokes of the Scottish Colourists, Daley played with texture and contrast – soft leathers met tapestry-like wovens, sheer organza clashed with rugged denim.

The outerwear – a key focus – saw house codes reimagined with technical precision. A cropped, quilted jacket in punchy orange had the energy of an oil painting, while a structured peplum trench redefined elegance with a sharp, sculptural edge. But it was the hand-felted smock dress, its surface brushed into wisps of dusky orange and indigo, that stole the show – its imagery of a woman in repose nodding to the poetic sensuality of John Duncan Fergusson’s portraits. Meanwhile, Faithfull’s influence was unmistakable – sleek wool suits layered over ribbed sheer jerseys, while a sweater reading “Stay Faithfull to Marianne” paid homage to her legacy.

Accessories, from beaded leather bags to sculptural brooches, added an artisanal edge. Daley’s collection felt like a love letter to craft, culture and the enduring romance of British fashion.
