Much excitement to be had this morning at the news that Hedi Slimane has hinted that he would consider returning to design. Well, as much excitement that one can have about someone who “might” be doing something, but still. We love Hedi. He’s had us at those Dior Homme drainpipes. The revelation came out in an interview with Luke Leitch for Vogue Italia, in which the designer, who left Saint Laurent last year, said that, “going back to design will always be an option… as long as I stay loyal to my principles, and keep protecting the integrity of my work.” And that was about it. If this is to be the case, and we are to see Slimane’s wares on le runway again, we would appreciate advance warning. Because we would need to be thin. Dangerously so. It’s Hedi – food don’t go.
