Roy Lichtenstein: Drawing First

Drawing First Post
Excuse my fashion-isms – but books are having a moment. Especially those that you can display artfully on your coffee table. If you don’t have such a piece of furniture due to spatial and/or financial restraints, books can be just as well displayed on shelves or bedside tables, or even stacked messily on the floor. The latest publication on the art of Roy Lichtenstein is one such book, exploring a lesser-known side of the pop artist’s work, his drawings. Rizzoli, who are kindly publishing the collection, Drawing First, describe it as ‘a unique perspective for getting to know and appreciate the artist’s oeuvre.’ We agree – it’s full of first drafts and ideas of his most famous pieces. Drawing First is out in November – leaving you plenty of time to clear a little space in your over-crowded life for it.

Roy Lichtenstein: Drawing First by Danilo Eccher, published by Rizzoli USA. Out November 3rd.
