We talk to Katherine Poulton – of ethical brand The North Circular – about this new collaboration.
These collaborators go way back. “I met Roland when I was first modelling in London. He was a young designer then and I walked in his first shows. We’ve worked together ever since. Working with Roland is great as he always has a clear vision of how he wants the piece to be. He was keen to push the traditional handmade cable knit into a fashion-forward piece. This is the new sexy take on the classic the Aran jumper.” All pieces are hand-knitted by grannies. Genuine grannies. “They’re based in Devon, the Midlands and Lincolnshire,“ Katherine explains. ”The Eugine top takes around two days of knitting time to complete.” Sounds like a labour of love then. The collection is modelled by The North Circular co-founder Lily Cole and will be available exlusively at Roland’s Carlos Place shop in London and his Madison Avenue store in New York later this month.
