Roland is opening a new store in the concrete jungle where dreams are made of, where’s there’s nothing you can’t do, where the streets will make you feel brand new and big lights will inspire you. That’s New York by the way, if you’re not familiar with that Jay-Z song. The store will be the designer’s first across the pond. “I have an amazing chemistry with American women,” he explained to WWD, “It was time for me to open in New York and really start to develop my image in America.” He’s chosen an uptown location for the store, Madison Avenue, because of its “village mentality.” He’s not into Jay-Z’s ‘Empire State of Mind’ then.
