ROLAND MOURET: DESIGNER TO CREATE CAPSULE COLLECTION FOR BANANA REPUBLIC
It’s turning into a morning of hot designer collaborations, is it not? First it was Alexander Wang x H&M and now it’s Roland Mouret x Banana Republic. News of these collaborations is certainly taking the sting out of our post-weekend blues. Roland has been enlisted by the American retailer to create a 30-piece collection that will be available at their stores and online by early August 2014. “It’s not a copy of my clothes in a less expensive [version], but the experience of a fitted dress for the Banana Republic customer,” the designer told WWD. “You should be able to try on a dress that fits you like a glove.” To an office full of people who love a) clothes that fit like a glove and b) Roland Mouret, these words are music to our ears. Nice music, that is. Like Mozart’s The Marriage of Figaro. We’re looking forward to taking an extended lunch break to visit Banana Republic’s Regent Street store already.
