Roksanda’s cruise collection, reminds Garth, and since he attended the appointment and saw the collection jun the flesh, we’ll just have to take his word for it, reminds him of cubist clowns, as painted by Picasso, which would make sense as Roksanda did say that she was inspired cubism. And the prints are very cubist. Cubist for the body rather than a wall though. Anyway, other things that Garth has shared with us on the subject of Roksanda include the following: she loves contrasting colours. Especially pinks and oranges. That is apparently her favourite combination. She also loves contrasting fabrics, for example leather and brocade. Which would explain the cubist patchwork of textures in this collections. Circular and geometric panels of leather and fleece combined with rich wools and some shiny vinyl, which adds a layer of toughness to the otherwise almost 30′s femininity she’s so good at.
