The Rejina Pyo woman is about to go on her holly-bobs. Where is she heading? It’s probably a wine tasting excursion to the south of France. Or maybe even a roadtrip across South America? If she’s lucky enough to bin the kids off with the grandparents, she’s definitely on her way to a mega-weekend in Marbz. Though she’s got some books to return to the library before she jets off. She goes to the one in Holborn, it’s a pleasant stroll in the sun from her flat in Russell Square.
She scowers the shelves already dressed in her holiday attire. She wears a gorgeous tartan splashed in coral, yellow and mint, which covers dresses, pantsuits, and skirts that sing like windchimes from their shell trimmings. She pairs them with denim hats in the shape of a buttercup, dainty kitten heels and likes the buttons on her pillowy jackets to be mismatched. She comes prepared for all types of weather, layering anoraks under blush pink work shirts before stripping down into a bathing suit paired with a different work shirt. This time it’s in olive, and dotted with palm trees, surfers and girls in hula skirts. Her boyfriend has the same one, and even his shorts to match. They both leave their trip to the library empty-handed. The chances of reading getting in the way of their sun-kissed happy hours – emphasis on the plural – are very slim indeed.
