Pierpaolo Piccioli has his eyes firmly set on a young, contemporary cohort with his Red Valentino line. His AW21 collection, previewed with a video on the brand’s website, is grounded in “a new sense of freedom and sassiness, reflecting the spirit of today’s generations.” It is a keen reflection of how we dress now. Streetwise pieces are worn with extrovert flounces of femininity.
The designer’s new Red Valentino wardrobe includes tough boots, punky, vinyl leggings, shrunken leather biker jackets and neon knits contrasting with layers of sheer tulle or tiered cotton. An oversized hoodie bursts at the neck with a tulle embroidered Pierrot collar, whilst a voluminous neon pink, net skirt is paired with a matching chunky knit. Is kick-ass-Tinker Bell a thing? It is now.
