“Before our feet a feather drifts, beyond us it will fall; Cause time will bid and make us rise, make ravens of us all.” If you ever needed some pick-me-up lyrics, Ravens by Patti Smith is at your service. The 1996 song was the mantra behind the founding of Raven, the newest PR agency based in London. The agency was founded by the senior management Starworks after the agency’s sudden closure several weeks ago. Taking lemons and making the most delicious (and fabulous looking) lemonade, co-founders Sophie Jewes and Yasmin Eady quickly embarked on a journey of their own. Supported by the global communications group Way To Blue (part of the global Miroma Group), Raven is quickly establishing itself as the new player in the game. While the official announcements of clients are still TBC, we already know they are already representing an exciting line-up of emerging names (Supriya Lele, Charles Jeffrey Loverboy and Richard Malone) as well as larger projects including Fashion East, Selfridges and the Fashion Awards, in partnership with the British Council.
“Our intention with Raven is pretty singular – to help the brands and the people we love and believe in tell their stories. It’s what we’ve always done; we live for the work. People come to us for our team – they’re forthright, funny and completely obsessed with contemporary culture. We’re still not quite sure how we’ve been able to manifest this quite so quickly but I’m putting it down to hustle! A bit of grit; we do that well in London,” tells us one of the co-founders, Sophie Jewes. This is only the beginning, so we excitedly wait what’s to happen next and welcome Raven (and all of their members) with open arms.
