It’s the end of an era. After almost five decades at the helm, Ralph Lauren has stepped down as CEO of the iconic American brand that bears his name. Half a century certainly isn’t bad going. He’ll hand over the role to Stefan Larsson, previously of Gap spin-off, Old Navy. But fans of Lauren’s fine design skills and all-American clothing need not worry – he’ll remain at the brand as both chairman and head of design. “This is important to say: There is no toe in the water. I won’t be coming in two days a week,” Lauren said of his departure. Phew – long may the king of American sportswear’s reign continue…
