The year is 1992. Whitney has reached number one in the US with ‘I Will Always Love You’, trolls dolls are selling like hotcakes, Clinton has won the presidency, and Polo Ralph Lauren have released their iconic Stadium Collection – a collection that pays homage to the 1992 Summer Games and will bring forth the first real epoch of street-wear.
And now, 25 years on, in a move that will delight ‘Lo heads everywhere, the range is being re-launched via a new twelve-piece collection that includes new, reimagined styles as well as some of those classic original pieces that remain etched in our memory, Ralph’s original designs drawing on the uniforms worn by American athletes in the 1920s and 30s.
The collection will be available in global Ralph Lauren flagship stores, ralphlauren.com (selected pieces) as well as in a special pop-up out the back of London’s Selfridges. To which we would recommend you get yourself to fast – we dropped by this morning and the queues are around the block already…
