Whitney Houston once sang about getting so emotional, and how shocking it was what love could do. Well, we love Raf Simons, and Raf loves to get a bit emo. We saw him sobbing his heart out in the Dior and I doc (available on DVD now), while his spring/summer 2016 collection was a veritable ode to emo, in its saggy jeans and tightly-tugged hoods and heavy chain-strung backpacks. And we loved it. Indeed, in true Whitney fashion, we will always love it, because Raf’s riffs are the strongest and most directional in all of fashion land. A lovely note to end the first day of Frenchy homme-wear on.
