When was the last time you put on a pair of heels? It’s probably been so long that you can’t even remember. Venturing out into the world post-pandemic – will there ever be a post-pandemic at this point? – in a pair of stilettos will probably have you walking like Bambi, so you may as well fail gracefully in style, no?
These beauties courtesy of Alexander McQueen are called the Punk Pumps, a re-issued silhouette inspired by the house’s gritty beginnings. They come packaged within the brand’s SS21 Pre-collection, which saw designer Sarah Burton and her team over-print and over-dye deadstock fabrics leftover in the McQueen studio.
A studded court shoe with a fifties-inspired pin heel, the Punk Pump comes finished with a pointed toe adorned with faceted spikes. You can grab a pair in black, white or pale pink, and they come in sling-back and ballerina pump variations, too – ideal for those of us not wanting to brave a high-heel straight after lockdown…
